“What has Christ done for us? What in God’s name are we doing for him?”
You are called by God. It’s that simple. You may respond, “Are you sure? My words aren’t eloquent, I can’t speak in public, I don’t want to preach or knock on doors, and I don’t see the need for extra training or school. Are
you sure?”
You are called, gifted, and sent to do the will of him who saves and sends you. That calling takes on many forms in many places, but you are called…
The Lord spoke to Moses from within a fiery bush: “You have forgotten the misery of your people, haven’t you? Well, I have not. I have come to rescue them. I am sending an emissary to force the Pharaoh to free them.”
The Lord’s voice became very soft. “I am sending… you.”
Moses’ heart – and jaw – plummeted. “What? WHAT? Sir, uh, who… who am I to challenge… Pharaoh?” “You will not go alone,” God said. “I will be with you.” Moses shifted from one bare foot to the other.
“Now, uh, look. Suppose I do, uh, go to Pharaoh and say, ‘The God of our ancestors says you’re to free us,’ They’ll… they’ll HOWL at me! ‘What? Who is this…God? Why, you fool, you don’t even know His name!’”
The Lord thundered, “I AM! The Only God! In My Name you will have all the power you need.”  Exodus 3:7-13 paraphrased
The 2008 Directory and 2007 Book of reports are complete and available for families to pick up in the narthex beginning tonight at the Lenten service.  There should be more than enough, so if you need more than one copy (for car or office), you may take an extra copy.
We pray for Eldon Eargle who is in orthopedic rehab and Diane Weathersby who is having outpatient surgery today. We pray for Helen Amick and Ed Rikard who are hospitalized. We also pray for Elmer Jacobs, Jane Sexton, Betty Summer, Patti Krell, and Russ Manos, all recovering at home. We offer our prayers, our needs and our burdens, spoken and unspoken for our members,
family and friends who are hospitalized, homebound, those recovering at home, in nursing homes and rehab facilities, and our troops serving in harm’s way.
Peace,
Pastor Eric
