9:30 a.m.: The Executive
Committee will meet to finalize Convention plans and exchange ideas
for 2008 events. Lunch will be provided for the Executive Committee.
12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m.: Registration for the Convention will be
in the fellowship hall.
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: 65th Annual SCLMM convention will be held
in the church sanctuary.
Cory Miller, former professional football player for the New York
Giants and the Minnesota Vikings, will be the keynote speaker.
4:30 p.m.: Communion Worship Service will be held in the church
sanctuary.
6:30 p.m.: The SCLMM Awards Banquet will be held in the Family
Life Center at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in
Newberry. The church is located at 1515 Boundary Street,
approximately five minutes from Summer Memorial. Locally known
Shealy’s BBQ of Batesburg will be catering the meal. The menu
consists of BBQ pork, fried chicken, corn, beans, slaw, dessert and
drink and will be $15.00 per person. Dinner reservations need to be
made by Wednesday, February 7. Checks should be made payable to

to the Convention. While you attend the Convention, they can browse
the downtown shops. Newberry has many antique and little boutique
shops to fill a Saturday afternoon. The downtown area also offers
several local places to eat.
There are several hotel
options if you would like to spend the night in Newberry.
The Hampton Inn is
located in downtown Newberry at 1201 Nance Street, across from the
Opera House. It is
the newest hotel in Newberry. When calling for rates at the Hampton
Inn, 803-276-6666, guests should identify themselves as part of the
“Lutheran Men” to receive the special Lutheran Men rate. Deadline
for this special rate is February 4, 2008.
The Quality Inn is
located at 1147 Wilson Road/ Highway 76 in Newberry. For their
