LMM Monthly Meeting Minutes

Attendance - 23
Meal – Beef Brisket, rice and gravy, string beans, banana pudding, rolls, tea, and water
Committee – Wayne Eargle, Gene Coker, and Ty Coker

1. Henry brought the meeting to order.
2. Tim Crout led devotions.
3. Parker Boulware led us in a Bible study – Parable.
4. Treasures Report – Earl Sease.
5. Parker Boulware is contacting speakers for future programs
6. April 2009 fishing tournament
   1. Saxe Gotha LMM is organizing a tournament at Camp Kinard
7. Tim Crout reported that National LMM is completely self supported and has 501 status.
   1. Visit www.elca.org/lmm donations can be made online.
   2. One Year To Live Retreat – Hickory Knob October 16th
8. SCLMM
   1. SCLMM State Convention – February 21^st 1:00pm at Spartanburg.
9. Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
   1. LMM to prepare meal.
10. James Hallman is helping to coordinate Lenten Meals – Team participation
    1. Team 1 to prepare and Team 2 to clean up.
11. Chicken Stew tickets are ready for sale
    1. Distribution of funds – Motion was made for $2.00 to be donated to youth and remainder to be given to Growing on Holy Ground fund.  Motion passed.
12. Operation In As Much
    1. Home repairs discussion included combining with Christmas in Lexington County
    2. Meals on Wheels
    3. Car Care Days
    4. Seat Belt Check
    5. Pay For It Cards
    6. Banquet as finale to all events
13. Outstanding Unit Awards – What It Takes – SCLMM Prescribed Goals
    1. Presentation
    2. 1 event – 35 and under
    3. 1 event for youth
    4. Celebrate LMM Sunday
    5. 3 Bible studies sessions
    6. 1 or more SCLMM Memorials
    7. Membership in Committee 100 – 1% of local LMM group.
    8. Donate to Loan Fund and Gift Fund.
14. National Board is asking that all men fast on Ash Wednesday
15. Epistle can be viewed online at sclmm.org.  SCLMM is wanting to cut cost by reducing the number of mailed copies.
16. Tim Crout is looking for volunteers to assist with maintenance projects at Linda Waters house.
